Moneyball (2011) Review

It’s a bold move to make a sports film that shows very little of the actual sport in question. When you watch a sports film, you expect a host of clichés that you accept willingly. The team will be in a disastrous situation at the beginning of the movie, a new entity will enter, a coach or player, who will struggle but will eventually win-over the team. The team will lose, then begin to win, and then have a final game which will be make or break for everyone involved. Megamind (2010) Review

There are films I watch, expecting them to be comedies and from viewing the trailer, hilarious, but instead they impress me by just being… cool. That is the only way to describe some of these films. The best example of this The Incredibles. As a comedy, there isn’t actually that many laughs but as a film, its brilliantly exciting, engrossing, entertaining and, well… cool! Megamind fits well into this category too. It’s a lot funnier than The Incredibles but that is hardly a triumph. Burn After Reading (2008) Review

The final scene in this film is not only the best scene but also a fantastic way to sum up the whole film. I won’t quote it word for word but it involves a CIA Officer and his Superior (played casually and hilariously by J.K Simmons.) They have no idea what has happened through the course of the film, why the outcome developed or how it involved them.
